6000 sq ft Commercial Gym

This simpler version includes all room components and room description, and should print out cleanly on most printers.

This Plan offers a Gym environment for Kids Ages 6 and up. The goal for the space is to cater to all ages of school aged children up through high school. There are several divided rooms and spaces in this large facility.

Room Components:

1) Large Are for Strength Equipment and Open Space

To the right of the running lanes is the Open area and Strength equipment area. The equipment chosen for this space is (2) adjustable trampolines which are chosen for their enormous versatility, and 6 plated weight strength machines. There is also a section for storing accessory items such as a Bosu rack, Fitness balls, medicine balls and the DDR pads. Program diversity is important to keeping existing clients and attracting new clients. Leaving open areas for different accessories is a cost effective way of offering exciting new classes for your members.

2) Indoor Running Track and Cardio/Gaming Area

Just beyond the check-in is a 2 lane indoor running track. This track is 50 ft by 8 ft; it offers a space for Sports Specific training classes and a general cardio area for all other fitness classes. It offers a safe, comfortable surface for relay races, warm-up “laps”, timed sprints etc. There are 5 flat screen televisions that are hanging on the wall. The TV’s offer the versatility of placing 10 Dance Dance Revolution pads on the running surface, giving the space two very useful purposes. Cateye Game bikes could also be placed here if storage of the units allows.

3) Restrooms

Due to the size of the facility, there are two separate shower rooms in addition to toilet areas. The showers allow for older kids to clean up after a work out, in addition to adults that may be using the facility for Personal Training during school hours.

4) Office

South of the Strength room is a standard office and 2 baths with doors convenient from both of the major rooms.

5) Kiddie Classroom (Optional)

Depending on the ages of the target population, this 27 x 27 room can be configured as a Kiddie Class room or an Exertainment room (see below).Kiddie Classroom option offers the possibility for classes during school hours. The huge successes of franchises that focus on young children are a testament to the financial benefits of offering classes tailored to this population. In addition to Parent child classes, the equipment in this room offers the possibility of fitness classes to mothers in the strength room while her older preschool aged child is attending a class in the Kiddie room.

6) Exertainment/Gaming Room (Optional)

The Extertainment room option is applicable to the owner that wants to cater to kids 6-teen. This room showcases a Heavyball, 3 Kick, DDR and Game bikes. Offering a nice assortment of interactive gaming is a HUGE draw for birthday parties and new member sign ups. The other really valuable aspect to having a strong interactive gaming section in your facility is the power of reward. Keeping kids motivated to workout can be a challenge. Offering an Exertainment room reward at the end of every structured fitness class is an easy way to keep kids motivated. The beauty of this reward structure is they are still getting a great cardio work out. Other gyms without exertainment use rewards such as credits for merchandise. Either way, kids need to be rewarded for their hard work if you want to keep them coming back and signing up for new classes or renewing memberships.
