This 24 ft by 40 ft “Portable Class room” Equipment and accessories can accommodate a class of 30 students from 1st grade through 6th grade. As most elementary schools have little or no PE specialist, this room was designed for the ease of the average elementary school teacher. The School was provided a Teacher’s toolkit, programming and training by our Lead Trainer, Gia Grim. See below the illustration for descriptions of the components and an explanation of how the room is used.

As most elementary schools have little or no PE specialist, this room was designed for the ease of the average elementary school teacher. The School was provided a Teacher’s tool kit, programming and training by our Lead Trainer Gia Grim.
The room is divided into two zones:The circuit is comprised of a simple to follow circular format. The Kids rotate from a cardio machine to a strength machine.
There is a mixture of Hydraulic Resistance, cardiovascular equipment in addition to accessories. Accessories stations include balance skills, core work, and Plyometrics have differing exercises that change to keep the circuit challenging and interesting.
There are easy to follow signs with pictures demonstrating accessory activities at each accessory. This keeps it simple for both the students and the teacher.
The circuit works very simply. The teacher chooses the pace (the amount of time at each machine) and the intensity level (how fast or slow the child does the exercise). The students rotate around the room changing machines on the teachers command. KickStart recommends offering the kids some motivational music to keep the energy level good and positive. There are different programming options that are available for Classroom lesson plans.
This zone is comprised of the “Must Haves” of exergaming; the DDR and Cateye Game Bikes. This area is no doubt the most popular with the kids. We recommend this are be utilized on a basic rotation for longer blocks of time. It does not follow the circuit rotation schedule. Rather, Students use the area for allotted times such as 10 minutes up to the whole period if desired. It can also serve as a reward for students that achieve goals in the classroom or PE. The DDR comes with practice pads that allow several students to rotate on the DDR if desired.
This space is considered to be separate from the fitness area as it is located outside the classroom. If a teacher has an Aid that can supervise the space, it can be incorporated into the circuit. However, if there is only one supervisor, the climbing wall cannot be incorporated into the fitness class. The wall does however get used for supervised outdoor PE and Play time.
