CAHPERD The California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The CAPHERD website is the first stop for anyone involved in PE in the state of California - and full of useful information for others.
AAPHERD The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. AAHPERD is the premiere national organization for PE advocacy. Lots of useful links to the various sub-organizations, as well as information about AAHPERD initiatives, political activity, etc.
Texas A&M James G. Gee Library: Coaching/Physical Education Resources This is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in teaching, coaching, training, or just general kids fitness. A rich list of resources organized into useful categories such as Coaching/Sports, Health/Nutrition, Sports Medicine, etc.
American College of Sports Medicine The main site of the ACSM offers some useful information for non-members and a large volume of information, services, and certifications for members. Membership fees are reasonable and the ACSM is an indispensable resource for anyone involved in Sports Science from a clinical, scientific, or practical perspective.
American Academy of Pediatrics Sports Shorts A useful series of documents sponsored by the AAP; each issue of Sports Shorts examines a single sports-related condition and is designed for both physicians and parents. One side has information for the physician and the other side has information for the parent and patient. Infrequently published, but the archive has a lot of good info.

Grants.gov A comprehensive site that serves as a gateway to Federal funds. Managed b the US Dept of Health and Human Services, Grants.gov provides a lot of good information and allows you to find and apply for Federal grants, as well as track your application.
Healthy Youth Funding Database (HY-FUND) Run by the Centers for Disease Control, HY-FUND is a great resource for educators, containing current information about funding opportunities for youth/school health programs. Each opportunity is selected based on relevance to adolescent health, or one or more of the eight components of the CDC's Coordinated School Health Program.
The Foundation Center A paid subscription site, The Foundation Center provides a slick, easy to use web interface and access to a huge database of funders and foundations nationwide. A wide range of services and subscription packages round out what is definitely one of the most comprehensive non-profit funding resources available.

Though the navigation can be somewhat confusing, the wide range and variety of available information, from scientific to practical makes it a very worthwhile resource.

Council for Exceptional Children The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. Membership-driven, but with lots of good information and resources for non-members too.
American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation AAPAR serves more than 8000 professors, teachers, trainers, and community leaders who promote meaningful physical activity and recreation for people of all ages and abilities. This is a membership-driven organization, but if you're involved with adapted activity, it's a valuable resource.
